Ethics and Professional Standards
Yousif Al-Abdulghani Law Firm ("the Firm") is committed to the highest ethical and professional standards and to compliance with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to us, including the Qatari Advocacy Law and the professional conduct rules issued under it. These standards apply to every member of the Firm, regardless of role.
Anti-Bribery and Corruption
The Firm enforces the integrity of its business practices without exception. We will not, directly or indirectly, engage in bribery or corruption in any form, and we operate a zero tolerance approach to any breach. We will not accept, solicit, agree to receive, promise, offer or give a bribe, facilitation payment, kickback or other improper payment.
Anti-Money Laundering
Our anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing procedures reflect the requirements of Law No. 20 of 2019 on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing and the guidance issued to the legal profession in Qatar. We carry out client and beneficial owner due diligence before accepting instructions, monitor engagements on an ongoing basis, and report any suspicion of money laundering to the competent authority where we are obliged to do so.
Data Privacy
The Firm takes data privacy seriously and acts as controller of the personal information provided to us. We safeguard that information in accordance with Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Notice.
Conflicts of Interest
We run conflict of interest checks before accepting any new instruction and maintain information barriers where required. We will decline or cease to act where a conflict cannot properly be managed.
Diversity and Inclusion
We value the diversity of the people and cultures within the Firm. We provide equality of opportunity and work to maintain an environment in which every member of the team is able to succeed on merit.
Human Rights and Labour
We respect human rights and conduct our business relationships with honesty, integrity and respect. The Firm supports the protection of human rights, complies with Qatari labour law, and will not be complicit in forced, compulsory or child labour in its operations or its supply chain.
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct applies to everyone working at the Firm, including partners, lawyers, consultants, support staff, trainees and temporary personnel. We expect the same standards of integrity from the suppliers, agents and service providers we engage.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
The Firm maintains professional indemnity insurance cover as required in the State of Qatar. Details are available on request.
Raising Queries or Concerns
We aim to provide the highest standard of legal service to every client. Where we fall short, we want to know so that we can put it right. Please raise any concern with the lawyer handling your matter, or write to info@alabdulghani.law. Complaints are reviewed by the Chairman's office and acknowledged within two business days.
